Food Safety Qualification

Course Aim:

The aim of this course is to provide students with training in food safety and provide a nationally recognised food hygiene qualification.

Objectives:

  • Explain the role of food safety legislation
  • Discuss the effects of food poisoning
  • Describe how to prevent contamination
  • Describe the need for effective personal hygiene
  • Demonstrate effective hand washing
  • Discuss the effects of poor pest control
  • Describe equipment design for catering
  • Explain effective cleaning and disinfection methods 

Course Length:

6 hours (excluding breaks)

Course Syllabus:

Food Safety Legislation, Food Poisoning, Bacteriology, Prevention of Contamination and Poisoning, Personal Hygiene, Pest Control, Equipment Design, Cleaning and Disinfecting.
