Food Safety Qualification
Course Aim:
The aim of this course is to provide students with training in food safety and provide a nationally recognised food hygiene qualification.
Objectives:
- Explain the role of food safety legislation
- Discuss the effects of food poisoning
- Describe how to prevent contamination
- Describe the need for effective personal hygiene
- Demonstrate effective hand washing
- Discuss the effects of poor pest control
- Describe equipment design for catering
- Explain effective cleaning and disinfection methods
Course Length:
6 hours (excluding breaks)
Course Syllabus:
Food Safety Legislation, Food Poisoning, Bacteriology, Prevention of Contamination and Poisoning, Personal Hygiene, Pest Control, Equipment Design, Cleaning and Disinfecting.
