1 Day Manual Handling

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the best practice in Manual Handling and Poeple Handling, together with consistent support to meet the standards set by the All Wales Manual handling Support.

Objectives

Describe the function of the spine

Examine and discuss manual handling legislation

Discuss company's manual handling policy

Decribe ergonomics

Examine and discuss manual handling risk assessment

Discuss safe handling procedures

Explain the need for effective teamwork and communication

Demonstrate safe inanimate load handling

Demonstrate appropriate skills in assisting a client to sit, stand and walk

Demonstrate appropriate skills in assisting a client to move in a bed

Demonstrate appropriate skills in the safe operation of a hoist
