This unit will help the learner to make informed decisions about the alternatives to paid work. Learners will understand how the skills gained from participating in unpaid work will be relevant and transferrable to other career paths.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Understand the different alternatives to paid work

2. Understand the skills, qualities and knowledge that can be gained from unpaid work and how they are transferrable to other careers / areas of life

3. Make a decision about an appropriate alternative to paid work
