The ability to complete an application form appropriately and accurately is essential in creating a positive first impression and will significantly enhance the applicant’s chances of securing an interview. The unit will introduce learners to some of the different ways in which they may be expected to apply for a job and the reasons why employers often favour the use of application forms. Learners will gain the skills to present information for a basic job application in an appropriate format.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Know the different methods of applying for a job

2. Know the purpose of a job application form

3. Be able to present personal information in an appropriate format depending on the type of job and the application form / process
