The ability to use effective personal leadership skills is an important skill for anyone seeking employment and for those wishing to progress in the workplace. Whether using these skills formally, as a team leader or supervisor, or informally to lead a small group of people it is important that the learner reflect on their personal leadership abilities and develop them accordingly. Learners will gain an understanding of the main qualities of effective leadership and prepare themselves to demonstrate their leadership skills in an appropriate leadership activity.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Understand the main features of leadership

2. Plan how to demonstrate leadership skills

3. Prepare for a leadership activity
