Workskills – Producing a Product Entry Level

This unit offers learners the opportunity to develop the necessary skills for choosing an appropriate product to produce. Valuable entrepreneurial qualities and ideas will be gained from being involved in a production activity on a small scale. Learners will gain an understanding of simple production processes, know how to work safely and be able to demonstrate practical skills through the use of tools and equipment. Learners will also carry out some evaluation of their end product.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Know how to make a product or item

2. Be able to identify the skills required to make the product or item

3. Be able to produce the product or item safely

4. Know how to examine and evaluate the product or item
