Employees and those entering employment need to know how to manage themselves effectively in the workplace in order to make a positive contribution at work. The unit introduces the learner to the concept of self management and requires them to demonstrate a series of self management skills, including punctuality, knowing when to take breaks and how to seek support at work. The learner will also be expected to view their strengths and abilities in this area.
The learner will be expected to:
1. Understand self management skills and how they increase productivity at work
2. Demonstrate self management skills by being practical, knowing when to take breaks and identifying the appropriate person to approach if they need support at work
3. Review their own self management skills
