The unit will help learners to develop the skills needed to communicate effectively and confidently in the workplace. Learners will understand the difference between formal and informal situation and know how to adapt their language accordingly. The unit will encourage the learner to use their verbal communication skill in practical situations, helping to develop their confidence.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Contribute to discussions and conversations in the workplace, both formal and informal

2. Be able to use language which is appropriate for the workplace

3. Know why it is important to speak confidently at work
