Workskills – Summarising Documents Level 2

The ability to summarise the content of different documents is a key skill for most areas of employment. The unit will show the learner how to identify and extract key facts from a document and produce a summary.

The learner will be expected to:

1. Distinguish between the key points and the supporting material in documents of several pages

2. Understand that they will need to tailor a summary according to its purpose and intended audience

3. Summarise a document of several pages in a style that is in keeping with its original intended audience and purpose
